Al-Houthi seeks to starve people and harness them to his obscurantist project by terrorizing them and instilling fear in their souls, as is the case now, because they know well that most of the Yemenis are not with him and do not support him.
In the Houthi terror project, this group violated all religious, moral, legal and humanitarian norms, killing and displacing millions of Yemenis.
In the most recent report of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, stated that the Houthi militia coup caused the death of an estimated 233,000 people in the first five years of the coup, including 131,000 for indirect causes such as lack of food, health services and infrastructure, Noting that 3,153 child deaths were verified and 5,660 children were injured, while 1,500 civilian injuries were reported in the first nine months of 2020, with attacks continuing on facilities protected under international humanitarian law, including medical centers.
Who stands behind this dire situation in Yemen, first of all the mines and explosive materials that the Houthi group continuously scattered in various parts of Yemen, which caused heavy losses among civilians, impeded the delivery of humanitarian aid to those who deserve it, and destroyed the infrastructure, causing thousands of Yemenis to die.
The widespread use of mines has left difficult humanitarian and health conditions, as this pest was planted in agricultural lands, villages, roads, wells, hospitals, schools and even homes, which prevented many families from returning to their homes, in addition to preventing Yemenis from harvesting their crops or practicing their work through which they save sustenance for their families, in addition to preventing relief groups from reaching vulnerable communities and providing food and health care to Yemenis who are increasingly suffering from hunger and disease, which is considered a double punishment by the militias for the Yemeni people.
Every Yemeni considers his survival after his work trip, as a gift from God, because mines did not leave a inch in Yemen without invading it.
It is a reality that made Masam teams come to rescue the Yemenis community from this mined pandemic, as Masam recruited its expertise and its human and logistical arsenal to relieve this burden on the Yemeni citizen, secure his life and walk him through to safety that he missed since the explosive death traps invaded the Yemen and made the smell of death wafting every where.
Thanks to the firm belief in the humanitarian message for which this humanitarian project was sent, Masam family devoted all its energies and capabilities to warding off the threat of mines away from Yemenis.
Project teams were able to clear 203,015 mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
This project recently carried out two operations to destroy and detonate 2,130 mines and unexploded ordnance, which are the outcome of what was cleared from the Directorates of Al-Mokha, Al-Mawza, Al-Khawkha, and Dhubab during last month, bringing the total number of destruction operations carried out by Masam teams on the western coast to 40.
Along with the same approach of generosity and perseverance, Masam teams continue their tireless efforts to bring Yemenis to safety in record time to the dream of “zero mine”, until the greatest hope is fulfilled, which is to restore every Yemeni to his sense of safety as he steps in all parts of his country.
