Project Masam’s Operations Room announced that the project’s teams cleared during the last week of June 1092 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices, which brings the total of what was cleared from the 30th of May to the 2nd of July to 5520.
The Operations Manager in project Masam Mr Retief Horn said that the engineering teams cleared during last week 774 unexploded ordnance and 17 explosive devices.
Mr Retief added that the teams cleared also during last week 298 anti-tank landmines and 3 anti-personnel landmines.
For his part, the Managing Director of project Masam Mr Ousama Algosaibi said in a statement published by Masam’s media office that the total of what Masam’s teams cleared since the launch of the project until the 2nd of July reached 172823 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
Mr Algosaibi added in his statement that the teams were able during last week to clear 286894 square meters of lands, bringing the total of what was cleared since the launch of the project to 11.585.453 square meters of Yemeni lands.
And last week, team 30 Masam (specialized in shells’ collection) carried out an operation to detonate and destroy 997 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices in Bab Al Mandab.
