Three civilians have been killed by landmines in two separate accidents in Al-Jawf governorate earlier this morning.

In the Sakia area of Al-Ghayl district, Hadi Mohammed Al-Ja’ouni, in his fifties, was killed when a landmine exploded while he was grazing his cattle.

Meanwhile, in the Al-Khalfain area of Khabb wa ash Sha’af district, two civilians were killed when an anti-vehicle landmine detonated under a civilian car they were traveling in.

The al-Jawf governorate is one of the most landmine-afflicted governorates. Landmines have caused the death and injury of thousands of civilians, preventing thousands more from returning to their homes and living in safety.
