Engineer Abdo Ibrahim confirmed in an exclusive interview with Masam’s media office that his team was able, since it joined project Masam, to secure 13 residential areas, adding that “The Houthi militias planted landmines extensively and at random, in civilians’ homes, schools, roads and farms”
Ibrahim indicated that project Masam, and through its teams working in Taiz province, and especially in Muazza’a, Al Wazi’iya and Dhabab directorates, helped tangibly and enormously to normalize life in these areas and save civilians from the fields planted, in evil ways, with landmines, which caused the killing and wounding of hundreds of civilians, mostly women and children
About the nature of team 23 Masam’s work, at the current time, Ibrahim asserted that the field which is being cleared is field number 13 in Al Arjoush region in Dhabab directorate, and the team was able to secure 75% of its total size which is estimated at 140 thousand square meters, and that 78 anti-vehicle landmines were cleared
In the same context, and in continuity of the operations led by project Masam’s experts to supervise directly the work of Masam’s clearing teams in the fields, Masam’s team of experts in Aden and the western coast led an inspection visit to team 23, to oversee its work, control its quality, know the level of its achievement and the extent of its compliance with the international safety standards
During the visit, the team of experts carried out a “TJET500” operation to demolish a landmine, because it was too dangerous to demolish it by traditional methods
