Project Masam removes 1,476 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 1,476 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in October 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams managed to clear seven anti-personnel mines, 218 anti-tank mines, 1,248 UXO and three IEDs since the beginning of the month.

The project’s demining teams cleared 414,233 square metres of Yemeni territory in October.

Last week, the project’s demining teams cleared two anti-personnel landmines, 113 anti-tank mines, and 631 UXO.

Since the launch of the project in mid-June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 50,546,564 square metres of Yemeni land.
