Project Masam demining team removes 52 anti-personnel mines from Usaylan

Project Masam has announced that one of its demining teams has completed mapping and survey of the Qoroun al-Thaleeb minefield in the Usaylan district of Shabwah governorate in southeastern Yemen.
Leader of Team 9, Engineer Ali Al-Rimi, said that his team has completed the survey efforts related to the mined area, adding that the comprehensive cleansing operation is underway.
Al-Rimi explained that Qoroun al-Thaleeb field is an anti-personnel minefield, adding that the team succeeded in removing 52 banned anti-personnel mines from an area of more than 7,000 square meters of the field’s area.
The team leader indicated that his team is continuing the clearance operation until the field is completely secured.
Anti-personnel landmines are internationally banned and condemned by international laws and protocols.
