Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 7,400 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in May 2025.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 1,689 landmines and UXO last week, including seven anti-personnel mines, 50 anti-tank mines, and 1,632 UXO during the period.
This brings the total number of items removed between 1 May and 30 May to 7,400.
The project’s demining teams cleared 188,541 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 928,086 square metres so far in May.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 67,432,996 square metres of Yemeni land.
