Project Masam clears 733 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 733 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in December 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 733 landmines, UXO, and IEDs last week, including 618 UXO and 110 anti-tank mines.

Since the beginning of the month, Project Masam’s deminers cleared four anti-personnel landmines and one IED.

The project’s demining teams cleared 196,469 square metres of Yemeni land last week.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 52,240,488 square meters of Yemeni land.
