Project Masam clears 725 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 725 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in January 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 725 landmines, UXO, and IEDs last week, including 596 UXO and 126 anti-tank mines.

Since the beginning of the month, Project Masam’s deminers cleared two anti-personnel landmines and one IED.

The project’s demining teams cleared 259,833 square metres of Yemeni land last week.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 53,126,577 square meters of Yemeni land.
