Project Masam has announced that its field teams achieved substantial progress in October 2025 as part of ongoing nationwide efforts to clear landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO).
According to the Media Office, the project’s demining teams removed 5,235 explosive items during the past month. These included 4,649 items of unexploded ordnance (UXO), 467 anti-tank mines, 84 anti-personnel mines, and 35 improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
In total, teams cleared 1,501,466 square metres of contaminated land, restoring safety to large areas previously threatened by the remnants of war.
During the final week of October alone, Project Masam teams cleared 1,105 explosive items, consisting of 863 UXO, 195 anti-tank mines, 22 anti-personnel mines, and 25 IEDs.
