Project Masam clears 3,797 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 3,797 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in November 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 758 landmines, UXO, and IEDs last week, including 600 UXO and 115 anti-tank mines, bringing the total of explosives that have been removed since the beginning of this month to 3,797.

Since the beginning of the month, Project Masam’s deminers cleared 3,164 UXO and 559 anti-tank mines.

The project’s demining teams cleared 269,487 square metres of Yemeni land last week, bringing the total land cleared so far in November to 1,156,407.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Masam teams have cleared 52,044,019 square meters of Yemeni land.
