Project Masam clears 3,765 landmines, UXO, and IEDs during November 2025

Project Masam has announced that its teams cleared 3,765 explosive items during the first 28 days of November 2025 (1-28 November), as part of its ongoing mission to remove landmines and explosive remnants of war from Yemen’s liberated areas.

According to the Media Office, the November total so far includes 3,208 items of unexploded ordnance, 524 anti-tank mines, 17 anti-personnel mines, and 16 improvised explosive devices. In the same period, clearance teams made 1,244,869 square metres of land safe for farming, access routes, grazing areas, and residential use.

During the most recent reporting week (15-21 November 2025), Project Masam teams cleared 875 explosive devices, consisting of seven anti-personnel mines, 367 anti-tank mines, 498 items of unexploded ordnance, and three improvised explosive devices, restoring 389,668 square metres of land.

Since its launch in mid-2018, Project Masam has cleared 525,499 explosive devices and 73,658,473 square metres of contaminated land across Yemen’s liberated areas.

Project Masam continues to work alongside local authorities, YEMAC, and affected communities to reduce the long-term risks posed by landmine contamination and support safer conditions for Yemen’s recovery.
