Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 3,455 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in June 2024.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 645 landmines and UXO last week, including 46 anti-tank mines, 593 UXO and six IED, bringing the total of anti-personnel mines, anti-tank mines, UXO and IEDs cleared so far this month to one, 116, 3,328 and 10, respectively.
The project’s demining teams cleared 18,130 square metres of Yemeni land last week, according to the statement.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 57,304,509 square meters of Yemeni land.
