Project Masam clears 3,039 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 3,039 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in November 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 102 mixed landmines and 588 UXO last week, bringing the total of explosives that have been removed since the beginning of this month to 3,039.

Since the beginning of the month, Project Masam’s deminers cleared 2,564 UXO and 444 anti-tank mines.

The project’s demining teams cleared 241,141 square metres of Yemeni land last week, bringing the total land cleared so far in November to 886,920.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Masam teams have cleared 51,774,532 square meters of Yemeni land.
