Project Masam clears 2,894 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 2,894 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in October 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams managed to clear 30 anti-personnel mines, 450 anti-tank mines, 2,409 UXO and five IEDs since the beginning of the month.

The project’s demining teams cleared 755,281 square metres of Yemeni territory in October.

Last week, the project’s demining teams cleared 10 anti-personnel landmines, 123 anti-tank mines, 553 UXO and two IEDs.

Since the launch of the project in mid-June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 50,887,612 square metres of Yemeni land.
