Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 2,840 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in July 2024.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 989 landmines and UXO last week, including five anti-personnel landmines, 46 anti-tank mines, 935 UXO and three IEDs.
The project’s demining teams cleared 192,106 square metres of Yemeni land last week, bring ing up the total cleared over the month to 596,122, according to the statement.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 57,637,709 square meters of Yemeni land.
