Project Masam has announced that its demining teams removed a total of 1,171 explosive devices during the week of 5 – 11 July 2025, including one anti-personnel mine, 46 anti-tank mines, and 1,124 items of unexploded ordnance (UXO). No improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recorded. Teams also cleared 191,469 square metres of land during this period.
These efforts are part of Project Masam’s ongoing operations in Yemen’s liberated areas, with July’s clearance totals (as of 11 July) reaching 2,730 explosive devices and 367,648 square metres of cleared land.
The week prior (21 – 27 June 2025), Masam teams removed 1,493 explosive items, including 14 anti-personnel mines, 27 anti-tank mines, 1,448 UXO, and four IEDs. Clearance operations during that week spanned 222,566 square metres, bringing the total land cleared between late June and mid-July to nearly 600,000 square metres.
Since the launch of Project Masam in mid-2018, its teams have cleared 505,466 explosive devices across Yemen. This includes 6,822 anti-personnel mines, 146,830 anti-tank mines, 343,570 UXO, and 8,244 IEDs. The total area of land cleared now stands at 68,338,920 square metres.
