Project Masam clears 2,374 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 2,374 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in March 2024.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 513 landmines, UXO, and IEDs last week, including one anti-personnel mine, 86 anti-tank mines, 420 UXO and six IEDs, bringing the total of items cleared in March to 2,374.

The project’s demining teams cleared 2,810 square metres of Yemeni land last week, bringing the total area cleared last month to 215,068 square metres, according to the statement.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 55,390,882 square meters of Yemeni land.
