Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 1,470 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in December 2023.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 124 mixed landmines and 611 UXO last week, bringing the total of explosives that have been removed since the beginning of this month to 1,470.
Since the beginning of the month, Project Masam’s deminers cleared 1,229 UXO, eight anti-personnel mines and 226 anti-tank mines.
The project’s demining teams cleared 141,653 square metres of Yemeni land last week, bringing the total land cleared so far in November to 338,122.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Masam teams have cleared 52,382,141 square meters of Yemeni land.
