Project Masam clears 1,171 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 1,171 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in January 2024.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 1,046 landmines, UXO, and IEDs last week, including 915 UXO and 118 anti-tank mines.

Since the beginning of the month, Project Masam’s deminers cleared one anti-personnel landmine and 12 IEDs.

The project’s demining teams cleared 257,130 square metres of Yemeni land last week.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 53,383,707 square meters of Yemeni land.
