Project Masam carried out two operations to destroy and detonate 2,130 mines, explosive devices and unexploded shells in Shabwa and the West Coast.
The destruction operation carried out by Masam teams in Marra area of Ataq directorate, the capital of Shabwa governorate, included 1500 mines, explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance, bringing the total destruction operations carried out by Masam teams in Shabwa governorate to 11 destruction and detonation operations.
The destruction operation carried out by Teams 9 and 6 Masam, in Ataq Directorate, included 350 anti-tank mines, 50 anti-personnel mines, 560 various shells, 500 fuses, a capsule, and 40 Katyusha rockets.
The destruction operation carried out by the missile collection team in Bab al-Mandab Directorate of the West Coast, included 630 mines, explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance, bringing the total number of destruction operations carried out by Masam teams in the western coast to 40 destruction and detonation operations.
The deputy commander of the missile team, Eng. Yahya Atef Saeed, said, this operation included 110 anti-tank mines, 336 fuses and capsules, 172 unexploded shells, 9 explosive devices, and 4 anti-personnel mines.
Engineer Yahya Atef added that the mines and shells that were destroyed are the result of what was cleared by Masam teams in the Directorates of Al-Mokha, Mawza, Al-Khawkha, and Dhubab during last November.
