Project Masam has carried out a refresher training programme for its demining teams working in the Marib sector.
According to Project Masam’s management, the training programme includes all 16 demining teams operating in the governorates of Marib, Shabwah, and Al-Jawf.
Designed to enhance the skills of deminers to deal with various landmines and new explosive devices, this week’s training course was delivered to the Survey Team, Team 1 and Team 13.
The rest of the demining teams will join the programme successively, according to the training plan prepared by Project Masam’s Training Advisors.
Project Masam’s Managing Director, Ousama Algosaibi, highlighted the importance of assessing the level of the deminers’ skills and intensifying training programmes to enhance and refine their expertise. He noted that these training programmes are created to enable the deminers to deal with the innovative landmines planted by the militias and their camouflaging methods.
In addition to providing the teams with valuable information and field experiences, these courses are also a time to reflect, team build, boost morale and foster creative energies between each staff of Project Masam within the framework of its humanitarian landmine clearance mission in Yemen.
The training courses focus on highlighting any new data, information and technical expertise related to the demining field, as well as coming up with ways and solutions to deal with expected and unexpected obstacles and challenges on the ground.
