Since launching its humanitarian project in Yemen, Masam realized that the process of ridding this brotherly country of this underground terrorism requires concerted efforts, mobilizing energies and lighting the paths of people with a culture of identifying explosive death traps, guessing their whereabouts and identifying their forms.
Indeed, Masam awareness efforts were fruitful, from which the Yemenis have continuously benefited in the their fight against mines.
people’s unawareness of this stalking death contributed to the occurrence of many victims and squandered innocent blood and sheared many people into the labyrinths of disabilities and impotence.
Therefore, in its fight with mines, Masam relied, in addition to the energies of his experienced teams and his advanced technologies, on educating people about the dangers of this explosive death, in order to protect the lives of innocent people and seek to reduce the number of victims.
The awareness campaigns of Masam teams on the dangers of mines were responsive to people and were keen to take into account the causes of knowledge and means of prevention, as evidenced by field reports regarding the presence of mines in different areas of Yemen.
Perhaps one of the first things in this humanitarian awareness, Team 24 Masam along with the team of experts, honored the child Habib Ali, from the Dhubab area, for informing the engineering team of the existence of a landmine without tampering with it or trying to recover it, an act that proved the success of Masam teams in Local residents awareness of the danger of mines and not to tamper with them, and inform engineering teams of any foreign objects found.
In a special meeting at Masam Media Office, the child Habib Ali said that the found mine, was planted beside the secondary road leading to his village and upon finding it, he placed stones around it as a warning sign, and informed the engineering team, where the team responded and took the necessary procedures to detect and treat it.
This child’s behavior and his conscious and wise dealings with this situation reveals that Masam awareness message has reached not only adults but also children, especially since they are among the most targeted groups with explosive death traps, which was proven by child Habib as he said, “I got acquainted with the mine through the indicative posters distributed by the Masam engineering teams, which included different pictures of mines, improvised explosive devices and unexploded ordnance.”
Child Habib is a model of a society that Masam hopes will be dominated by awareness of the dangers of mines more and more, because awareness remains one of the weapons to reduce the power of these bloodthirsty mines.
