Masam removes 896 mines, exploded ordnance and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams removed 896 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bringing the total cleared since the beginning of the month to 2,029.
Masam Operations said in a statement that the project teams removed 728 UXOs and one IED along with 11 banned anti-personnel mines and 156 anti-tank mines this past week alone.

The demining teams succeeded in clearing 352,335 square metres this week – with the monthly clearance so far totalling 574,869 square metres.

 

Masam teams managed to clear 45,952,405 square metres of Yemeni land since the beginning of the project in mid-2018.
