Masam removes 875 mines, exploded ordnance and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams removed 875 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bringing the total cleared since the beginning of the month to 3,989.
Masam Operations said in a statement that the project teams removed 686 UXOs and 13 IEDs along with 11 banned anti-personnel mines and 165 anti-tank mines this past week alone.

The demining teams succeeded in clearing 219,552 square metres this week – with the monthly clearance so far totalling 1,071,596 square metres.

Masam teams managed to clear 46,439,132 square metres of Yemeni land since the beginning of the project in mid-2018.
