Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams removed 849 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bringing the total cleared since the beginning of the month to 4,838.
Masam Operations said in a statement that the project teams removed 708 UXO and one IEDs along with 16 banned anti-personnel mines and 124 anti-tank mines this past week alone.
The demining teams succeeded in clearing 293,276 square metres this week – with the monthly clearance so far totalling 1,364,872 square metres.
Masam teams managed to clear 46,732,408 square metres of Yemeni land since the beginning of the project in mid-2018.
