Masam removes 5,084 mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices in one month

Project Masam’s management has announced that the project’s demining teams have cleared 5,084 mines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IED) during the month of November.
Masam management added in a statement that, during the past month, the project teams removed 3,865 UXO and 79 IEDs.
The statement, which was published on December 4, stated that Masam’s demining teams removed 923 anti-tank mines and 217 anti-personnel mines during the same period.
Masam said that during the past week, the teams cleared 1,307 mines, unexploded ordnance, and one IED.
The statement also showed that last week Masam’s teams removed 1,170 UXO, four IEDs, 113 anti-tank mines, and 20 anti-personnel mines.
During the past week, Masam teams were able to clear 327,883 square meters of land, bringing the total area that was cleared last November to 1,407,503 square meters of Yemeni liberated land.
