Masam removes 4,811 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices

Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams removed 1,273 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices, bringing the total number of explosives removed in February to 4,811.

In its statement, Project Masam said that the project teams have removed 3,912 unexploded ordnance (UXO) and 899 explosive device including landmines since the beginning of the month. Management added that the project teams removed this week during the same period 809 anti-tank and 29 anti-personnel mines.

Last week (25 February – 3 March), the Masam teams succeeded in clearing 278,000sqm of the Yemen liberated land, bringing the total area cleared since the beginning of the project in mid-2018 to 44,850,678sqm.
