Masam removes 1,907 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices

Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams removed 1,027 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and explosive devices.

In its statement, Project Masam confirmed the demining teams removed six anti-personnel mines, 203 anti-tank mines, 817 UXO and one improvised explosive device (IED) this week alone.

Since the beginning of the month, management also said that the project teams removed 1,494 UXO, three improvised explosive devices, 401 anti-tank mines and nine anti-personnel landmines, bringing the total cleared so far in March to 1,907.

Last week (4 March – 10 March), the Masam teams succeeded in clearing 268,235sqm of the Yemen liberated land, bringing the total area cleared since the beginning of the project in mid-2018 to 45,367,536sqm.
