Masam removes 1,334 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices

Project Masam has announced it has removed 762 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO) and improvised explosive device (IEDs) last week as part of its humanitarian landmine clearance operations, bringing the total removed from the beginning of this month until the 14th of this month to 1334.

In a statement, the Operations room said the weekly total clearance included 633 unexploded ordnance and 120 anti-tank mines.
In the first two weeks of the month, deminers cleared 1,101 unexploded ordnance and 224 anti-tank mines.
During the second week of this month, Masam teams cleared 209,667 sqm of liberated Yemeni land, bringing the total area that has been cleared since the beginning of the month, to date, to 268,226 sqm.
