The destruction operation led by Masam’s team 18 and under the supervision of the project’s team of experts included 231 anti-personnel mines, 63 explosive devices, 30 anti-machinery mines in addition to hundreds of unexploded ordnance.
In an exclusive interview with Masam’s media office, the leader of team 18 Masam Colonel Thabet Al Radfani confirmed that the mines which were destroyed are the ones that the team cleared from the middle of villages, houses, roads, farms, wells, and many civlian areas in the directorates of Qa’ataba and Al Azareq after they were planted by the Houthis randomly and without maps.
Colonel Al Radfani noted that there are still huge numbers of mines and explosive devices in reefs and valleys that need to be swept, because the Houthis are still until now planting more of them in the regions they control in the south of Al Oud region, and the directorates of Damt and Al Husha, which means that more efforts are needed to deal with this catastrophe.
