In conjunction with the International Mine Awareness Day, “Masam” project honored, in the temporary capital Aden, the leaders of the engineering teams working in the western coast, as a token of appreciation for their efforts in securing Yemen from the dangers of mines.
During the honoring event, the international expert in Masam project Dr Zawba’ Al Rawi reiterated that “Masam” project is the hope of Yemenis to live in peace, and that with the field teams’ efforts it was able to normalize life in many regions and residential areas in a number of Yemeni governorates, and it enabled also thousands of displaced families to return safely to their homes, farms and schools.
Dr Al Rawi said that the project’s honoring of the engineering teams’ leader comes today in the context of the project’s care for its field teams in appreciation of their efforts that are tangible in the field, and which succeeded in clearing more than 158 thousand mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance from 9 Yemeni governorates.
Dr Zawba’ Al Rawi conveyed the greetings of the Managing Director of Masam project Mr Ousama Algosaibi to the field teams’ leaders and members, wishing them excellence and success in their humanitarian mission.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Mines Action Center – Aden, Major General Qaid Haytham praised the huge efforts and the unlimited support provided by Masam Project for landmine clearance in Yemen, represented by its Managing Director Mr Ousama Algosaibi.
Major General Qaid Haytham sent a message of thanks and appreciation to the de-mining teams’ leaders and members for their efforts to secure Yemen and Yemenis from the dangers of mines, putting their lives at risk in order to secure a safe life for the Yemeni people.
In the end of the event, the international expert Dr Zawba’ Al Rawi and Major General Qaid Haytham along with the Masam’s foreign experts honored the engineering teams’ leaders with certificates of honor. Masam project also gave Major General Qaid Haytham an honorary shield in appreciation of his continued and exceptional cooperation with “Masam’ project.
