Project Masam for Mine Clearance in Yemen led an operation to destroy and detonate 2415 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in Bab Al Mandab directorate in the western coast.
In an exclusive interview with “Masam”s media office, project Masam’s international expert Dr Zawba’ Al Rawi confirmed that the destruction operation included 400 anti-armor mines, 1500 shells and unexploded ordnance, 400 various fuses, in addition to 45 explosive devices and 70 anti-personnel mines.
The operation led by both team 30 Masam (which collects shells) and the detonation team, is the 18th operation in the western coast, which brings the total of destruction operations that the project led to 62 destruction and detonation operations in Yemen.
Project Masam was able since its launch in late June 2018 until the beginning of June 2020, to clear more than 168 thousand mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
