Project Masam has destroyed 1,378 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and explosive devices (IEDs) in Yemen’s West Coast.
Deputy leader of Masam Special Task Team on the Western Coast, Engineer Adib Rajab said that his team destroyed a large amount of landmines, explosives and unexploded ordnance.
Rajab explained: “The entirety of explosives that were destroyed today in Bab al-Mandab was 1,378, including 288 anti-tank mines, which largely targeted civilian life in several vital areas.”
Rajab pointed out that these landmines, explosives, and other devices  were removed from different areas of the Western Coast, such as Hays, Al-Mokha, and Al-Khokha, where these devices posed a threat to civilians in schools, homes, and to other facilities.
The engineer also expressed his sincere thanks to the great Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Project Masam’s funder, praising Masam’s efforts in the humanitarian landmine clearance field.
The deputy leader also said he wished the support for this project would continue to allow Project Masam’s deminers to remove mines across Yemeni liberated land.
