Project Masam has cleared 406,390 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO) and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) since it launched its humanitarian landmine clearance operations in Yemen in mid-2018.
Since the beginning of the war in Yemen, Houthi militias have been planting landmines and IEDs, leaving the country littered with hundreds of thousands of deadly landmines.
Since June 2018, Project Masam has cleared 6,258 anti-personal landmines, 139,938 anti-tank landmines, 252,358 UXO and 7,836 IEDs.
In the last week alone, Project Masam cleared 104 anti-tank landmines and 468 UXO, effectively clearing 58,559sqm.
Since the beginning of the operations, Project Masam deminers have cleared 47,543,648sqm of liberated land.
