The Managing Director of Project Masam, Mr. Ousama AlGosaibi, announced that from end of June 2018 to November 20, 2020, project teams cleared 200,000 mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
AlGosaibi said in a statement published by Masam Media Office that the teams have been able, since project launch until now, to cleanse 16,419,688 square meters of Yemeni lands that were booby-trapped with mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
AlGosaibi stated that the teams cleared from last October 31 to November 20, 2020, 4729 mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
AlGosaibi added that during the third week of November 2018, Masam teams cleared a mine and unexploded ordnance.
The Manager Director of Project Masam said, that last week, the teams cleared 1569 unexploded ordnance and 18 explosive devices.
He added that the teams also cleared 393 anti-tank mines and 38 anti-personnel mines.
Regarding the size of the area cleared by the Masam teams during last week, AlGosaibi mentioned in his statement that the area of land cleared during the third week of this month is 234623 square meters, bringing the total of what has been cleansed since October 31st till November 20, 2020, 643,458 square meters.
