Project Masam for clearing Yemeni lands of mines carried out a destruction and detonation operation for 1638 mines, unexploded ordnance, explosive devices, and rockets, in Bab Al-Mandab directorate of the West Coast.
In a statement issued to Masam Media Office, Acting in charge of Team 30, Masam, for missiles collection and destruction, confirmed that the destruction process included 111 anti-tank mines, 295 miscellaneous shells, 2 individual mines, 511 miscellaneous fuses, 713 miscellaneous ammunition, 2 aviation missiles, 2 Katushia missiles, and 2 explosive devices.
Engineer Yahya Atef Saeed said that the mines, various shells and explosive devices that were destroyed today were collected by Masam teams, numbered 13 engineering teams, from the regions and directorates of the West Coast.
According to the Managing Director of Project Masam, Mr. Ousama AlGosaibi, from end of June 2018 until current January 15th, Masam engineering teams managed to clear 211,572 mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
AlGosaibi added that from project launch until current January 15th, Masam teams were able to clear 18,722,809 square meters that were booby-trapped with mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
AlGosaibi confirmed that the destruction operation carried out by the missile collection team in the West Coast is the 46th operation for Masam teams operating in the West Coast, bringing the total number of destruction operations carried out by Project Masam in Yemen to 96 destruction and detonation operations.
