Walid Al-Bakri, a student at the College of Education in Bayhan, has said that landmines are disintegrating the Yemeni society.

In a conversation with Project Masam, the student said that the number of landmines and the randomness of their planting is the biggest issue in his country.

Al-Bakri explained that landmines impede life as they have destroyed education, healthcare, agriculture and social life filling civilians’ with fear of accidents – something the student described as “the greatest collective injustice that the Yemeni have been subjected to”.

The young man thanked Project Masam’s demining teams, who he said are bringing safety and hope to the Yemeni people, despite their dangerous working conditions.
