The inferno of landmines besieges many regions in Yemen, and the clearing efforts made by Masam don’t stop, just like the efforts of the Houthis to plant as many landmines as possible.
In this context, the Technical Survey Team leader Engineer Hussein Alaqili said that the majority of Al Jawf province’s regions were besieged by landmines, and that their inhabitants couldn’t return to them unless they were cleared by Masam’s teams.
And about Yemen’s future with the landmines ordeal, Alaqili reiterated that it is hard to say that Yemen will overcome the danger of mines in a precise time because the Houthis continue to plant landmines at random and extensively, not caring about the catastrophe that will befell upon civilians and the Yemeni society in general in Yemen.
Engineer Hussein Alaqili concluded by saying: “We in project Masam are doing our best to protect civilians from the danger of landmines, and to normalize life in all liberated areas, and we are working to make this year the best in achievements”.
