Houthi mines kill and wound seven civilians in three Yemeni provinces

Seven civilians, including two children, were killed and injured, after landmines planted by the Houthi militia exploded in three provinces.

The Yemeni Landmine Observatory said that the two civilians, Yahya Mutlaq Naas and Yahya Muhammad Ghafisa were killed while riding their motorcycle after an anti-personnel landmine detonated in the Anbara area of ​​Al-Matoun District, in Yemen’s northeastern Al-Jawf province.

In Al-Hodeidah province, meanwhile, human rights monitoring teams recorded the injury of four civilians, including two children and two women, by unexploded ordnance (UXO), while a civilian was wounded as a result of the explosion of a projectile from war remnant in Al-Bayda province.

This comes after reports confirmed that Houthi landmines claimed the lives of 3,024 civilians, including 647 children, 202 women, 160 elderly people and 2,015 men ranging from ages 18-50.

Landmines also caused injuries, physical deformities and permanent disabilities to 1,032 children, 285 women, 181 elderly people and 2,733 men.
