The Yemenis welcomed the announcement of extending project Masam’s mission in Yemen with an overwhelming joy and huge appreciation of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the family of Masam for their hard work and commitment to save Yemen and protect its people from the calamity of mines.
The Yemeni journalist Hasan Al Soufi blessed the extension of project Masam’s humanitarian mission by saying: “Project Masam is one of the most important and beautiful projects that extenguish the fire of death in Yemen, as there are many Yemenis and mostly children, who lost their limbs because of the mines. Masam showed an example to be followed in combatting the mines, and this Saudi generosity is much appreciated, because they spread hope among the people and painted smiles on the faces of Yemenis”.
As for the reasearcher Mohammad Al Haribi, he considered that project Masam is the safe haven of Yemenis as they face the ordeal of mines. He said: “Project Masam played a major role in saving Yemeni lives from the mines that the Houthis planted in huge numbers. Renewing the project’s mission in Yemen and extending it is an open window that will be always open to see the risks of the deadly traps as they are being defeated, and to continue the mission of combatting the mines which were planted by the militias in roads, residential areas and homes; the Houthis planted mines wherever they went, and project Masam is the only savior from this murderous nightmare”.
The academic Dr. Mahmoud Al Hamidi indicated also that Masam is like a respiratory system for the Yemenis in their fight against the mines. He said: “Masam is a project of life for the Yemenis, it is at odd with the Houthis’ deadly project which was built on mines; project Masam have saved over the last two years many many Yemeni lives in the western coast, Al Jawf, Ma’rib, Aden and all the governorates, as Masam was able to clear 168000 mines and unexploded ordnance. Masam is a project of life and it is a huge humanitarian project, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided this vital support to the Yemenis in order to purify the Yemeni lands from mines, and the result is: thousands of mines were cleared and destroyed so nobody can use them”.
For his part, the academic Dr. Yahya Al Ahmadi noted that the extension of project Masam’s mission in Yemen is a real good news to all Yemenis. He said: “Project Masam is definitely a project of life; without this project, Yemen would have lost thousands of its citizens because of the mines which were planted by the Houthi militias in every plain, mountain, valley, street and school they have passed by, targeting every living creature whether it is human or animal. The extension of project Masam’s efforts in the field is a very good news for all Yemenis, to resume their efforts in rescuing them from the mines that were planted underground, in order to terrorize the Yemenis and destroy their present and future alike”.
