The Assistant Director of the field hospital in Al Khokha directorate Dr Qasem Al Humaidi confirmed that 90 % of mines’ victims die before they reach hospitals, and 10 % suffer a permanent disability
Dr Qasem Al Humaidi said in an exclusive interview with Masam’s media office that Al Khokha directorate is one of the most affected directorates by the Houthi crimes, as the Houthis deliberately plant mines and explosive devices randomly and extensively in all the vital regions that are related primarily to civilians’ lives and their sources of living.
Al Humaidi reiterated that the hospital receives almost daily civilian victims who were exposed to mines and explosive devices’ explosions, from the remnants of the Houthis, the last of which was what the family of Ousama Mahmoud Baqadhi was exposed to, as an explosive device exploded at them in Mushj region, which caused the death of Ousama Mahmoud, his new born baby who was only one week old, his wife Nafissa Abdou, their relative Mu’adh Ahmad, and the injury of Maryam Ahmad Ibrahim.
Dr Qasem Al Humaidi noted that hundreds of Al Khokha inhabitants were killed because of mines, and tens of them suffered permanent disabilities, adding that the majority of the victims were women and children.
And concerning the Health sector, Al Humaidi confirmed that the Houthi militias looted all the property and contents of Al Khokha medical facilities, then turned them into military barracks for their militias, which made them a target for shelling and destruction.
Al Humaidi mentioned that the mines are a cause for insomnia due to their danger and the huge damage they inflict upon civilians.
The Assistant Director of the field hospital in Al Khokha directorate praised the enormous efforts that Masam’s engineering teams are making in order to secure people’s lives and make them aware of the dangers.
Al Humaidi described Masam project as a life saving project for civilians from the death-traps that the Houthi militias laid in their farms, homes, roads and their children’s schools.
