Project Masam has announced that its field teams cleared 1,044 explosive items during the first week of November 2025, as part of its ongoing nationwide mission to remove landmines and explosive remnants of war.
According to the Project’s Media Office, the cleared items included 957 items of unexploded ordnance (UXO), 79 anti-tank mines, five anti-personnel mines, and three improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
During the same period, Project Masam teams cleared 437,409 square metres of contaminated land, restoring safety to agricultural areas, access roads, and residential zones previously threatened by explosive hazards.
Since its launch in mid-2018, Project Masam’s total clearance output has reached 522,778 explosive devices and over 72.85 million square metres of cleared land across Yemen’s liberated regions.
The project remains dedicated to protecting civilians and enabling recovery by working alongside local authorities, the Yemen Executive Mine Action Centre (YEMAC), and affected communities to reduce the long-term risks of landmine contamination.
