As of 26 September 2025, Project Masam teams have cleared a total of 4,176 explosive devices and 1,169,122 square metres of land across Yemen during the month of September to date.
These figures reflect the project’s sustained efforts across multiple governorates, where demining operations continue to prioritise civilian areas, including homes, roads, and critical infrastructure.
During the most recent reporting week (20 – 26 September 2025), Project Masam demining teams removed 1,280 explosive devices, including eight anti-personnel mines, 113 anti-tank mines, 1,158 items of unexploded ordnance (UXO), and one improvised explosive device (IED). Clearance operations during this period covered 316,571 square metres of land.
This followed the week of 13 – 19 September 2025, in which Project Masam cleared 1,026 explosive devices and 275,592 square metres of land. The week before that (6 – 12 September 2025), teams cleared 1,103 explosive devices and 276,667 square metres. From 30 August – 5 September 2025, teams cleared 767 explosive devices and 300,292 square metres.
Since its launch in mid-2018, Project Masam has cleared a total of 516,499 explosive devices across Yemen. This includes 6,885 anti-personnel mines, 147,382 anti-tank mines, 353,955 UXO, and 8,277 IEDs, making more than 70,912,138 square metres of land safe for civilians.
