As of 15 August 2025, Project Masam teams have cleared a total of 2,939 explosive devices and 580,746 square metres of land in Yemen during the month of August alone.
These figures reflect the project’s sustained efforts across multiple governorates, where demining operations continue to prioritise civilian areas, including homes, roads, and critical infrastructure.
During the most recent reporting week (9 – 15 August 2025), Project Masam demining teams removed 915 explosive devices, including eight anti-personnel mines, 13 anti-tank mines, 880 items of unexploded ordnance (UXO), and 14 improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Clearance operations during this period covered 182,409 square metres.
In the preceding week (2 – 8 August 2025), Project Masam demining teams removed 1,140 explosive devices, including one anti-personnel mine, 49 anti-tank mines, and 1,090 items of UXO. No IEDs were recorded that week. Clearance operations during this period covered 235,169 square metres.
In the week before that (26 July – 1 August 2025), teams cleared 163,168 square metres and removed 884 explosive devices, including two anti-personnel mines, 28 anti-tank mines, and 854 UXO. No IEDs were recorded that week.
Since its launch in mid-2018, Project Masam has cleared 510,527 explosive devices across Yemen. This includes 6,838 anti-personnel mines, 147,047 anti-tank mines, 348,378 UXO, and 8,264 IEDs.
To date, Project Masam’s operations have covered more than 69.27 million square metres of cleared land.
