Project Masam clears 1,851 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 1,851 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in July 2024.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 882 landmines and UXO last week, including nine anti-personnel landmines, 29 anti-tank mines, 841 UXO and three IEDs.

The project’s demining teams cleared 209,840 square metres of Yemeni land last week, bring ing up the total cleared over the month to 404,016, according to the statement.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 57,637,709 square meters of Yemeni land.
