Project Masam has assigned Team 13 to head to the Samda area in Marib governorate, to remove and destroy unexploded ordnances and shells, and secure lives of civilians living in the vicinity after a deadly explosion rocked the area.

The assignment came after a woman was killed and three other civilians were injured in the uncontrolled explosion at a weapons depot located near a internal displaced persons (IDPs) camp Samda area in Marib in northeastern Yemen. The blast destroyed and burned dozens of IDPs’ homes.

Project Masam confirms that the engineering team will continue its mission to remove and destroy all ordnances and shells that did not explode during the explosion of the weapons depot in the Samda area.

Project Masam’s intervention is part of “the project’s commitment to keeping displaced persons and local residents away from any dangers that may arise due to the presence of unexploded ordnances and shells in the area,” management said.
