Project Masam’s Operations Room announced that the project’s teams cleared during the 3rd week of July 1287 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices, which brings the total of what was cleared since the 30th of June until the 17th of July to 3393.
The Operations Manager in project Masam Mr Retief Horn said that the clearing teams cleared 926 unexploded ordnance during last week.
Mr Retief added that the teams cleared also during last week 262 anti-tank landmines and 74 anti-personnel landmines.
For his part, the Managing Director of project Masam Mr Ousama Algosaibi said in a statement published by Masam’s media office that the total of what the teams cleared since the launch of the project until the 17th of July reached 175124 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
Mr Algosaibi added in his statement that the teams were able during last week to clear 371626 square meters of Yemeni lands, which brings the total size of lands cleared since the 30th of June until the 17th of July to 969999 square meters.
In conclusion, Masam’s teams cleared 12268558 square meters of Yemeni lands that were mined with landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
And during last week, team 30 Masam (specialized in collection and demolition) carried out an operation to destroy and demolish 24 landmines and explosive devices in Dhabab.
