On the roadsides, in the entrances of streets and alleys, in the mountains, hills and deserts, in schools, homes and in all the places you can or can not imagine that they can be a place to plant a mine in.. The militias in Yemen planted the traps of death itself.
The rills of blood saturated the lands but couldn’t saturate the grudge of those who turned the Yemeni lands into time bombs, that kill some, destroy the present and the future of others by leaving them semi-alive, semi-human, shackled by inability, handicap and poverty.
In “Al Yatmah” region, local residents found mines that were unveiled by torrents and drifted to roads and grasslands; this led to increasing the concerns of locals about the presence of other mines that could be also drifted by torrents to where they move around.
In addition to these mines which were unveiled by the torrents, the locals keep hearing on a daily basis the news about the deadly treacherous mines. Two weeks ago, 3 landmines exploded when a car carrying a number of civilians and merchants was passing in a road that leads to the same area.
The inhabitants of these regions suffer from the random planting of mines and explosive devices in the roads, homes and private farms, and in all the regions where the militias are forced to retreat or withdraw from, as the traps of death terrorize people of the region, choke them, limit their movements, and turn many of them into disabled and handicapped.
In this context, human rights reports indicated that the number of the victims of the Houthis’ mines in Yemen exceeds 10 thousands, the majority of whom are children and women, in addition to the elderly and craftsmen such as fishermen and farmers.
The desert road in Al Jawf wasn’t spared from the ebbs of the treacherous deadly mines, as one civilian was killed lately in an explosion of a landmine planted by the militias.
In this context, local sources confirmed that the citizen Salah Abdallah Dabbash was killed in a landmine explosion, and that his vehicle was completely destroyed on the desert road that links between Marib and Al Jawf governorates.
The mines which are planted massively along the desert at Al Jawf governorate are still killing, miming people and inflicting huge losses on humans and materials, as in the beginning of last week the mines blew off at 3 cars that were transporting civilians on their way to Al Yatmah region, carrying goods and food supplies.
The Houthis’ mines are a deadly virus, that prey on the lives of the people and lurk in their homes and lands. It turns their dreams into nightmares and kills them in a cold blood. The unarmed civilians are helpless and can do nothing to stop the spilling of blood, unless they are fortunate with the presence of the kind and brave teams of “Masam” on the ground, to destroy these mines, in order to bring life back to Al Jawf and many other regions in Yemen, after crushing and defeating the mines completely.
