Team 13 Masam was able to secure 27 fields and mined areas starting from Sirwah directorate in Marib Governorate to Al Yatma desert in Al Jawf governorate.
Within a year and a half of continued work by Masam project in the process of securing Yemen and Yemenis from the tragedy of mines, team 13 was able to clear and destroy more than 3 thousands mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance, of which 70 % were in Al Jawf governorate, and 30 % from Marib governorate.
And in the context of highlighting the efforts of team 13 Masam, the Vice-Leader of the team, Captain Nayif Al Humaydi said in an exclusive interview with Masam’s media office that “his team led 6 operations to destroy and detonate the devices that his team cleared” noting that without these kind of operations, the Yemenis will live always in horror, fearing that these mines may be used in the future against them by somebody.
On the other hand, the generous process of this team continues, and that is what Al Humaydi emphasizes on by saying that “his team is working now in Al Jufaynah region, in the 28th field, and this field according to him is one of the most dangerous and difficult, as its danger lies in it being a grassland area, and in its proximity to the city; as for its difficulty, it lies in it being planted with plastic mines, and they are of the most dangerous mines and most difficult to be cleared, because they are hard to detect by devices, so the de-miners have to work with special twitching detectors, and this work is very hard and requires a lot of efforts.
